If I'm the reason

“You know you always skip over your part in this”

No, you just hate that your actions left a trail

I’m wise enough to admit I hurt you too.

Dismissed your feelings because you let your insecurities dent our trust

Believed the words of people who wanted your place and not the truth in your face.

Too young for the weight, we parted and filled voids

Yet ran back to our saving grace.

The Abyss

...and so, the poet fell in love once again.

Each time plummeting further, deeper.

But to be loved by a poet is to be loved endlessly

So, she loved unapologetically

At times painfully

Though never regretfully

Aching Hearts and Silent Nights

I can feel your warmth despite the silence in our bed

But you can't see me drowning in these tears.

Please turn over and love me

Let's make a love that consumes us both.

Replace these saltwater trails with stains of passion and buried echoes of, I won't leave you, baby.

Instead, my vision is occupied by the wall of your back

And I lie awake behind you

Hoping you turn over to see me.

As I turn away, you softly whisper,

“Babe...you awake?”
